These two words would seem to bring excitement. Most of the time they are met with distain, angst and anxiety. Why is searching through Chico rental properties so difficult? ## Dozens and Dozens of Complexes You're fortunate to be living in or searching in Chico because of the fact that you have many different complexes to choose from. It doesn’t matter if you're looking for a one-bedroom or three-bedroom apartment, or trying to find one that will allow Fido to live there with you -- you'll find complexes that will satisfy your needs and wants. But with that, it can be difficult to decide which you should consider to be your new home. ## Various Rent Amounts Have you decided how much you can spend on [monthly rent](https://www.abodo.com/affordable-housing-calculator) when looking through Chico rental properties? It would be a bad idea to start your apartment search without [knowing what your budget should be](https://blog.hignellrentals.com/my-first-apartment-checklist-budget-for-apartment-living). For starters, you don’t want to waste your time looking at complexes that you can’t afford while getting your hopes up with fancy amenities. Make sure that you keep your expectations realistic. You can’t have your cake and eat it too! ## Various Amenities Some people need access to a pool, others may require a BBQ to grill their dinner. Everyone has different things on their needs and wants list. Trying to figure out what amenities you must have in your apartment can be daunting, but it's important to make a list. List out all the ones you know you can't live without, that are in reason of course, then in another column list out ones you'd like to have but aren't mandatory. Once you've made the list it'll be easier to find the right apartment because you'll be able to dismissed the ones that don't hold the [amenities](https://blog.hignellrentals.com/enhance-your-enjoyment-of-living-in-a-chico-apartment-with-amenities) you need. ## Various Locations It can be difficult trying to decide where in Chico that you would like to live. There isn’t any right place and there isn’t any wrong place. This is normally why making the decision on location can be a difficult one. You have to take into consideration which part of town you spend most of your time and where would be convenient to live. Do you do the majority of your [shopping by the mall](http://www.chicomall.com/)? Would you like to live near Bidwell Park? Ask important questions like these to help you make a decision.
