Today marks a special occasion for our town of Chico, California. We have a new park named Comanche Creek Greenway that had its grand opening this morning. This new park is located on the intersection of the Midway and Park Ave. It is on the south side of town, so many folks have named it the “mini Bidwell Park.”

The Comanche Creek Greenway Park is an improvement project for 20 acres that has been in the works for awhile and we are so happy that the day has finally come for people all over Chico to enjoy it.

This park has so much to offer everyone, in fact here is a list of the things you will find there:

  • Nature Trails – They have both Class A trails and Class C/D trials
  • Paved Paths – No more riding your bike on the dirt; nice paved paths are in your future!
  • Bridge – this bridge is for both pedestrians and bicyclists alike and allows you to cross over the Comanche Creek
  • Vehicle Parking – there will be parking at both main entrances
  • Bike Parking – you can find the place to park your bike near the vehicle parking
  • Educational Kiosks – these signs will be placed all around the greenway in order for you to gain more information about the reasoning behind restoring the site and the rich history of the Comanche Creek
  • Picnic Areas – there will also be places along the greenway to sit down and either enjoy a nice meal or to just enjoy the view around you

Check out this video below found on Chico Enterprise-Record's YouTube Channel to get a sneak peek at this gorgeous new park.
