Thanksgiving at Chico apartmentsGobble gobble! Thanksgiving is right around the corner and that means it's time to break out your holiday apron, dust off the old cookbook and gear up to be the hostess with the mostest! Serve your guests in splendor at apartments in Chico or Redding California!

If you agree that the perfect amount of butter is when it starts to pool underneath your dinner roll, then we are on the same page and you'll love this post.

Let this blog serve as your official guide to hosting an epic Thanksgiving.

Book Your Guests!

Remember that holidays are hectic for everybody, and schedules book up fast! Whether you're hosting a Friendsgiving or family affair, reach out early to reserve your favorite people. (So, that means last week).

Plan Your Meal

Choose from the traditional, the innovative, the healthy, or the downright indulgent, and craft up a lip-smacking menu that your guests will love. It's important to think of the types of people you're inviting, their food preferences, diets, interests etc. Hint: even though it's totally boring, be sure to have a green salad as a safe option for everybody. Stick with what's familiar, call up grandma for her pie recipe or auntie for her gravy! Be thinking ahead if you'd like your guests to bring a dish to share - you will need to let them know ahead of time.

Inventory Check

First, make sure you will have enough tables and chairs to seat your guests. If you don't, consider borrowing or renting. Next, check your inventory of plates, silverware, cups, and napkins. Decided on using paper plates and utensils, or the real deal. Also be sure you have enough serving plates, spoons, ladles, salad forks etc. You won't want to be scrambling to find a pie knife.

Decor

With decorations, everybody has their own preference. A few hints though...don't make centerpieces that block your guests view of the table, make sure you are safe with candles or water vases, and also to use sustainable items or second hand decor to save money. If you are a first-time host, check with your parents or co-workers to see if they have any items they are looking to get rid of or are willing to share. Appetizers

Don't forget to take advantage of the opportunity to wow your guests with yummy appetizers, and also to utilize this key time to finish prepping or to check on your turkey. Your guests will get to socialize and catch up, and you'll have some cushion time in case things are taking longer than they should.

Start the Turkey Early

The key to being a good host is environment and laughter. The key to being a great host, is managing your time so efficiently that guests are never waiting, starving, or asking when things will be done. Start your turkey early! Not having the bird done is a perfect way to steamroll your whole event.

Enjoy!

Remember to enjoy your own event! Thanksgiving at apartments in Chico California should be memorable, delicious, filled with good friends, family, and fun! Take the time to make a toast, have seconds of mashed potatoes, and eat lots of pie!

Cooking for the holidays does have its dangers. Now might be the perfect time to look into renter's insurance, especially if you have never cooked a turkey. Be kind to your oven.
