Happy 4th of July!
Fireworks, the one event that captures the attention of all ages. Independence Day usually consists of coming together as a community to watch the dark sky light up in magnificent colors, but how does that happen in the midst of COVID-19?
Below you’ll find all the updated information regarding if each town’s annual fireworks show is canceled or happening as planned!
Fireworks in Chico
The Silver Dollar Fairgrounds & Speedway, the only place in Chico that sets off fireworks, announced that they have cancelled their 4th of July races and there will be no fireworks.
Fireworks in Redding
Redding's fireworks usually follow the city's Freedom Festival at the Redding Civic Auditorium, while they decided to shoot off fireworks they have canceled the festival. To help everyone stay a safe distance from each other, they will be broadcasting the show's soundtrack on two radio stations Q97 / 97.3 "Today's Country" and Red 103.1 "Redding's Classic Rock."

Fireworks in Oroville (Not at Lake Oroville)
Typically Oroville gives an amazing fireworks show over Lake Oroville, but this year they have decided to shoot them off over the airport. Residents are advised to view the show from their homes as the city will be using bigger shells that can be seen at further distances.
Where: Oroville Municipal Airport (airport not open to the public)
When: Saturday, July 4 - Fireworks start 30 minutes after sunset

Fireworks in Red Bluff
On June 1st the Tehama County Fireworks Committee announced with heavy hearts that they had to cancel their annual fireworks show.
Fourth of July in Paradise
According to the Town of Paradise, "With the current public health guidelines in place for COVID-19, large events and gatherings are not permitted to take place for Summer 2020. This means that the Town of Paradise is not able to host its regular events."
