We know it can be hard to live in an apartment with a pet. As a pet owner it's important that you have things around the house to keep your little friend entertained.
Toys not only keep your pet entertained but they also give them exercise and keep them from destroying things around your apartment because they're bored.
Below are some ideas to keep your pet busy while living in Chico or Redding apartments.
Dog Toys
There are many different dog toys out there that will keep your dog entertained and healthy while, but there are some favorites!
1. Kong
Perfect for killing time with your dog. You can stuff treats into the end of the toy and your dog can spend time trying to get them all out. It's also a great fetch toy that comes in a variety of sizes.
2. Tug of Rope
This one is pretty easy to find at any store, but you can also make your own. All you need is three long pieces of thick material. Tie all three together at one end, braid the pieces together until you get near the end and then make another knot. You can play fetch with your dog or drag them around the room if they have strong teeth. Both are quite entertaining.
3. Puzzle Toys
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so you just have to see for yourself what the 9 Best Interactive Dog Puzzle Toys look like.
Cat Toys
If you're more of a cat person, check out these fun and helpful toys to have around your apartment.
1. Scratching Post
We all know that cats have sharp claws, unless they have been declawed. When renting an apartment in Chico or Redding, it’s never fun to have to pay for damages your cat has caused while scratching. Make your own personal scratcher for your cat so that you can keep that extra money in your pocket!
2. Da Bird
Da Bird looks like a fishing pole with a collection of feathers at the end of the string attached to the pole. Bouncing it in front of your cat will keep them occupied for awhile, that is until they snag it from you!
3. Laser Pointer
Sometimes the simplest toy is the most entertaining. Moving a laser pointer around and watching your cat try to catch the light brings laughs for you and is great exercise for your cat.
Fish Toys
While we know there really aren't any fish “toys” there are ways for your fish to enjoy their bowl or tank more. It also doesn’t hurt that it will be more pleasing to the eye for you in your apartment.
1. Plants
Putting different kinds of real or fake plants in the bottom of your fish bowl or tank can add some color and make it look more like the bottom of the ocean.
2. Aquarium Accessories
Who doesn’t like looking at a sunken ship or maybe a SpongeBob Squarepants Pineapple? There are many different kinds of buildings you can get for your fish to explore. Think of how much those fish in Finding Nemo liked all the different decorations around their tank!
Bird Toy
Last but not least, if you have a bird there aren’t many toys out there, but a play gym usually covers all you need. It gives them something to climb and jump around on, either inside their cage or outside, depending on how trained they are.
Hopefully one of these toys helps your pet enjoy the apartment living experience too!
