Before you get distracted by the warm sunshine and fresh air, get a head start on your **spring cleaning**. If you’re like most human beings on the planet you don’t exactly look forward to spring cleaning your Chico rental properties, but you feel so much better after it’s done. So grab your rubber gloves, scrubbing brushes, and duster and get ready to tackle your spring cleaning full speed ahead with our floor to ceiling checklist. There are a couple different strategies to get started on your spring cleaning. You can clean by room, by task (for example, all the blinds in your rental), or start with the big areas that are nagging at you the most. We’re going to organize the checklist **by task**. A word to the wise before you start: you can conquer big projects by doing a small amount each day. We give you permission to check off your spring cleaning checklist over the course of an entire month. You don’t have to do it all in one day – unless that’s more your style! Either way, your [Chico rental properties](https://www.hignellrentals.com/) will get a thorough cleaning. ## Get Rid of Surface Clutter  Put things away, throw things away, file things away, do what you gotta do. Clearing off the surface area will help you focus on the actual task at hand. Tip: You’re allowed to have one and only one junk drawer in your rental. ## **Dust Anything You Usually Ignore**  We’re not talking your everyday coffee table and bookshelves. Think high and low and dust the ceiling fans, light fixtures, blinds, moldings, baseboards, and vents. Be prepared to sneeze. ## **Wash Windows and Treatments**  You’ll be amazed at the light that comes in through your windows after you’ve Windexed away the grime. Window treatments are often overlooked, but they can collect dust and contribute to any allergies you might have living in Chico rental properties. ## **Electronics**  Your computer, TV and cell phone are probably covered with fingerprints and streaks. Clean them up with these tips on [cleaning your computer and TV](https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-clean-a-flat-screen-tv-or-computer-monitor-2624703). While you’re at it, give them a good restart and delete any programs or apps you’re not using. ## **Appliances**  Wipe out the microwave, clean out the refrigerator, use oven cleaner to get the nitty gritty out of the oven (kudos if you have a self cleaning oven!), clean the coffee maker, and run a load of bleach water in your washing machine. ## **Give Floors Some Extra Love**  Instead of just vacuuming and mopping, move the furniture and get in the nooks and crannies. Shampoo your carpets and steam, wax or polish your floors, depending on what kind you have in your Chico rental properties. ## **Scrub Sinks, Tubs and Toilets**  Use an all natural cleaner or an already mixed cleaner from the cleaning aisle to get rid of hard water stains, lime and mildew – ew! ## **Pack Winter Clothes and Blankets Away**  You won’t be needing your sweaters and heavy blankets as the weather gets warmer. Purchase some space saver bags to pack them all away in and then easily store them in a closet or under the bed. ## **Flip Your Mattress**  While you’re packing your winter bedding away, flip your mattress. You’ll sleep better and you’ll help your mattress last longer. ## **Treat Yourself**  Well done! You’ve conquered spring cleaning and now you can go out to play. But before you do, buy yourself a new candle or air freshener to make your home both look and smell amazing. This simple spring cleaning checklist will get your Chico rental properties in tip top shape.
