Is this on the top of your wish list for Santa? We understand how stressful apartment searching can be in our wonderful town because you have so many different options to choose from. Where do you start? ## Set a Budget Before you start spending time looking at apartments and getting your hopes up, you need to figure out how much you can and want to spend on your rent. If you are a [first time renter](https://blog.hignellrentals.com/my-first-apartment-checklist-budget-for-apartment-living) this can be difficult to calculate your monthly bills that includes an amount for rent. But if you have done this once or twice before, you understand the [need for a budget](http://apartments.about.com/od/moneybudgeting/a/createabudget.htm).  ## Wants vs. Needs Make a list of [must-haves in your new apartment](https://blog.hignellrentals.com/my-first-apartment-checklist-5-things-to-evaluate-before-moving-in). This will make your apartment searching easier if you know what you aren’t willing to settle on. Does there have to be a washer and dryer in the unit? Do you absolutely need a clubhouse that has a gym? Do you want to be by your place of work or the grocery store? Make sure that your must-haves are realistic. Then create a list that has amenities and features that would be a bonus if you find an apartment that has them.    ## Check Us Out Here at Hignell Rentals, we try to make apartment searching as quick and easy as possible.
