Here's a list of things that you'll find in town that will keep you happy and entertained. ## 1.  Locally Owned Businesses There are hundreds of [locally owned businesses](http://www.downtownchico.net/) here in town. From an organic and all-natural grocery store to pieces of art made in Chico, we have it all. If you're interested in a shopping spree without having to drive from store to store, then head to our downtown area where you will find shops right next door to each other. Convenience while supporting your local community? Sounds like a win-win to us! ## 2.  Mild Winters Are you looking for a place that doesn’t get too cold in the winter? Then Chico is your town. We have [mild winters](http://www.usclimatedata.com/climate/chico/california/united-states/usca0211) that have lows in the forties and some rain. Chico does have hot summers...but that is what water holes are for! ## 3.  Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. You don’t have to like beer to appreciate [Sierra Nevada Brewing Co](https://sierranevada.com/). Not only is it one of the largest breweries in the nation, but also has a restaurant, gift shop, live music and brewery tours. This gem has been local from its creation and is only expanding. ## 4.  Bidwell Mansion A piece of history is found right here in our little town. [Bidwell Mansion](http://www.bidwellmansionassociation.com/) was built in 1868 and was the home of Chico founders, John and Annie Bidwell. You can take tours of the mansion while learning about the wonderful history of Chico and the Bidwells. ## 5.  Great Outdoors [Bidwell Park](https://chico.ca.us/bidwell-park) is made up of thousands of acres that consist of various trees, plant life and trails for all to enjoy. The creek that runs through Chico can be found in the park and is great for fishing, swimming or just listening to the trickle running by. If you want a place to walk, jog, bike, roller blade and more then Bidwell Park is for you. ## 6.  Chico’s National Yo-Yo Museum Have you wondered how big the largest yo-yo in the world is? Look no further because it lives here in town at [Chico’s National Yo-Yo- Museum](http://nationalyoyo.org/). You can view the gigantic yo-yo while buying a normal sized yo-yo or even taking a class. ## 7.  Transportation Options This town has many [different transportation options](https://chico.ca.us/node/1148). From taxis to pedi-cabs, Amtrak to the city bus. If you want to rely on others to get from point A to point B, then Chico is your town. ## 8.  Affordable Rental Living Searching for Chico rentals can be a pain, and when you add trying to fit the cost into your budget it can be very stressful. Thankfully, Chico has affordable living options that focus on comfort, convenience and quality.
