man_riding_bike_in_Bidwell_ParkOur beautiful City of Chico has so many fun things that that everybody who lives here needs to experience at least once. Now that spring is here and the sun sets later, we want to highlight one of the most popular attractions that we have, Bidwell Park.

Established in 1905, the land that makes up over half of Bidwell Park was donated to the city by John and Annie Bidwell. After the city acquired more land in the following years, Bidwell Park now has 3,670 acres. That’s a lot!

Because Bidwell Park is so large, you are able to choose from a variety of activities to particpate in. You can hike, swim, bike, star gaze, play disc golf, horseback ride, paraglide and more! If you enjoy learning about nature then the Chico Creek Nature Center in Bidwell Park is the place for you. Here you will learn about the different types of trees, plants and wildlife that live in Bidwell Park.

We are lucky that we are living in Chico! We have access to this beautiful park that provides rich culturean recreational activities to our city. If you haven’t been to Bidwell Park yet then you should plan to go soon! Start with a walk in lower park and maybe a hike in Upper Park this weekend. The beauty is here for us all to enjoy.

If you don’t have enough time to go to the park because you are too busy trying to find a new apartment, then check out our Living in Chico properties.
