Whether it’s the Chico mint ice cream, homemade candy or that’s it’s family owned and operated, after over 70 years Shubert’s is one of the most beloved Chico summer traditions.  Because all of you Chicoans love Shubert’s ice cream so much, and based on a majority vote from our Facebook fans, [Shubert’s](http://www.shuberts.com/) ice cream was voted as our next featured giveaway. **Are you wondering how you can win one of two $20 Shubert’s gift certificates?** All you need to do is subscribe to our blog and you’re entered! Once you’ve subscribed, your name will be placed into our drawing for a chance to win one of two $20 gift certificates. (2 winners will be selected) ## What Else Makes Chico Fun in The Summer Sun? Although I scream, you scream, we all scream for Shubert’s Ice Cream (it was ranked #2 in America by the CBS Weekend Edition after all), we asked a few Chicoans what they love about summer in Chico and here is what they said… - “What I love about Chico is the community feel that [Farmer’s Market](https://www.downtownchico.com/event-thursday-night-market_16.htm) brings to the town every Thursday night.” - “We really enjoy the [Friday Night Concerts](https://www.downtownchico.com/event-friday-night-concerts_9.htm) in the plaza. It’s great to see local talent displayed to the public.” - “Downtown Chico. All of the [great restaurants](https://www.downtownchico.com/restaurants.htm) and small shops really make for a great night out.” - “Chico just wouldn’t be the same without Caper Acres. My husband still remembers going as a child.” - “I have always enjoyed [Upper Bidwell Park](http://bidwellpark.org/bidwell-park-home/) hikes and swimming holes. After a long day it’s great to escape to the surrounding hills for a jog or beautiful hike.” - “I really enjoy the [CARD](http://www.chicorec.com/) program Chico has to offer. My kids attend soccer and basketball and they just love it! It’s a great way to teach teamwork without being overly competitive.” We would like to give you a chance to respond as well. Share one thing that makes Chico such a fun place to live in the summer on our [Facebook page](http://www.facebook.com/LivinginChico). We will use these responses to create our next LivingInChico.com giveaway! We’ll see you back here shortly for the announcement of the Shuberts giveaway. In the meantime, go cool off and lick the day away with a Shubert’s ice cream cone. You’ll be glad you did!
