Not many people live in a municipal area that has 3,670 acres of beautiful trees, trails, creeks, and recreation right at their fingertips. But if you’re living in Chico you have the opportunity to check out different Chico rental properties to live in that are near Bidwell Park, and here are 5 reasons why you should: ## 1.  You aren’t a gym person If you love exercising in the great outdoors [Bidwell Park](https://chico.ca.us/bidwell-park) is the place to do it.  Rental properties near the park give you access to hiking and running trails in Upper Bidwell Park, and a great paved 3 mile loop in Lower Bidwell Park for walking, running, biking, roller blading (do people still do this?!), hopping, skipping, jumping, lunging, summer-salting – whatever kind of exercise gets YOUR heart rate up! ## 2.  You have kids with a lot of energy [Chico rental properties near Bidwell Park](https://www.hignellrentals.com/) give you easy access to child friendly playgrounds where your kids can burn off a ton of energy sliding, swinging, climbing, running, chasing, tagging, and monkey-barring. Each end of the park has fun playgrounds, with Caper Acres near One Mile and Hooker Oak play area near 5 Mile. ## 3.  You have pets Many rental properties in town allow you to have pets. While you probably won’t be taking Fluffy the cat for a walk or Petey the Parrot for a fly, you have Fido who needs to get out every day. He’ll need to be on a leash for his walk during the day, but if you go before 8:30 a.m. he can be off leash and run wild and free. In parts of Upper Park your dog can be off leash any time. Find details [here](https://chico.ca.us/bidwell-park). He’ll also enjoy taking a quick dip in the creek to cool off. Bidwell Park is very dog-friendly, just make sure to use the doggie bags available to clean up after Fido. ## 4.  Nature is your hobby Bidwell Park offers many different varieties of trees and plants. If you’re a nature lover you’ll enjoy being close enough to take a nature walk any time of day during the year. The fall colors won’t disappoint and you know exactly when spring arrives by the buzz of bees and tweets of birds. During the summer you can see what treasures you can find while cooling off in the creek. It’s nice to have a place to escape to now and then. ## 5.  A barbecue and a baseball is all you need to have a good time If you like to entertain and have a good time with friends and family, but feel you just don’t have the space, living in Chico rental properties near Bidwell Park gives you access to barbecues, baseball diamonds, and fields to throw a football. It makes entertaining fun and easy.
