Sunny and 75: Why Chico Living is Best in the Fall

Written by Hignell Rentals Team | September 17, 2019
After a sweltering Chico summer, crisp morning air and breezy afternoons are a much welcomed surprise. You could say that the golden glow of sunshine mixed with cooler temps makes Fall our favorite season.

If you're considering moving to Chico and are concerned about our famous sultry summers, this article will remind you that warmer summers make for gorgeous fall weather. Sunshine and 75 degrees are exactly what the doctor ordered, and that's not all a Chico fall has to offer.

Find out the 3 charming ways the fall season changes the experience of Chico living, for the better:

1. Hot Summers Sizzle into Gorgeous Falls

After 3 months of 95-100+ degree temperatures, fall brings a breath of fresh air to cool down the scorching summer heat wave. It's important to find the blessings in everything that life throws our way, and this means acknowledging and appreciating that the unbearable Chico summer lingers just long enough to warm the valley for a gentle sunny fall.

Chico living has so many amazing perks, but most of us can agree that summer temperatures can be pretty brutal. As we come closer to the season of giving thanks, we can be thankful for the beautiful fall weather we experience throughout September, October, and November. For as many hot days as we face in the summer, our sunny fall extends deep into most people's winter, and we sure are grateful for that!

2. Colorful City Scenery

One drive down the Esplanade in the fall is all it takes to convince you to move to this charming city. Fall ignites Chico with a golden glow that burns into a myriad of amber, scarlet, and honey colored leaves. Fall is a special time for all those living in Chico to stop and appreciate the changing of the seasons, to be thankful we survived another one of the hottest summers on record, and to cherish the beauty of the Northern California valley. Fall's most magical place in Chico is most definitely Bidwell Park. Head there for a walk during your lunch break, you won't be disappointed.

3. Harvest Celebrations

The weather and pretty leaves aren't the only things that make Chico living in the fall absolutely awesome. The city comes alive with festivities! Downtown Chico bursts with sunflowers, scarecrows, pumpkins and people! Cooler weather means locals are that much more excited to join in signature events and harvest celebrations.
