Whether it be your kitchen or your bathroom sink, it's important that you stay consistent with cleaning the gunk and grime off your faucets. Typically, you go to your sink to clean something so having a part of your sink look dirty seems a bit counter intuitive.
If you're new to your Chico or Redding apartment and you don’t have the gunk and grime on your faucets, it's a good idea to get into the habit now of cleaning your sink weekly to help prevent the icky-ness. That’s right, this blog still pertains to you. So here is a step-by-step guide on how to clean your faucets.
What You Will Need
If you don't already have these items in your cupboards, go out and purchase them. They'll be good cleaning supplies for other things than just your faucets!
- Baking Soda
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Old Toothbrush (that you won’t use for your teeth anymore)
- Spray Bottle
- Rag
- Permanent Marker
Steps to Clean Your Faucets
- Sprinkle the baking soda around the base of the faucet.
- Pour the hydrogen peroxide in an empty spray bottle and write on the bottle with a permanent marker “Hydrogen Peroxide.”
- Begin spraying the hydrogen peroxide on the areas with the baking soda. It will begin to bubble which will indicate that the cleaning has begun!
- Let that sit for 5 minutes.
- Take old toothbrush and begin scrubbing the faucet.
- Once you see that the gunk has been removed from the faucet, rinse with water and dry with a rag.
Your faucet is now clean and shiny! If you do this once a week before there is gunk and grime, you'll always have a clean faucet and it will require less scrubbing with the old toothbrush.
Other Places to Clean
You've created your bottle of cleaning product and just finished cleaning your faucets, do you stop or keep cleaning? Since you're already cleaning so you might as well clean a few other places with gunk!
- Wipe out and clean your kitchen or bathroom cupboards
- Removing baked on food from pots and pans
- Clean out the grout between your bathroom tiles
Make sure you keep a bottle of hydrogen peroxide in your cupboard as you can use it to clean a number of things!
