What to Do This Weekend Living in Rentals in Northern California

October is filled with so many wonderful things. Leaves are falling and creating fun piles to jump into. You're beginning to think about what silly character you can dress up for halloween to all the different pumpkin patches you can visit to decorate your home with. 

If you live in rentals in Northern California and haven't made any plans yet for this weekend then you are in for a treat! Fall activities abound this weekend in the North State and you are going to have a hard time deciding what to take part in. Luckily, you have Hignell Rentals to help give you a little bit more information about what’s happening this weekend so you can decide what sounds most interesting to you. 

Sierra Oro Farm Trail

Saturday, October 12 and Sunday October 13

Whether you’re new to rental living in Northern California or you consider yourself a local, the Sierra Oro Farm Trail Passport Weekend gives you the chance to explore all Butte County has to offer. Passport holders take a self-guided tour to local specialty farms and wineries where you have the opportunity to sample artisan olive oils, nuts, wines and beers, as well as see places in Butte County you may not have even known existed.

Harvest Sidewalk Sale

Friday, October 11 - Saturday, October 12

This annual free event is presented by the Downtown Chico Business Association and gives everyone living in Chico the opportunity to visit and support local small business. Start shopping for the holidays early and celebrate the changing of the seasons by picking up some incredible deals. If you live in rentals in Chico California near downtown, make a morning of it and visit the local Farmer’s Market before doing your shopping.

Heritage Day

Sunday October 13 12pm-4pm 

Burney Fall's annual heritage day is here once again! McArthur-Burney Falls State Park is the place to be to experience life as a Pioneer before smartphones and the internet where a twinkle in an inventor's eye. Learn about the stories told from historians and ancestors along with seeing everyone dressed in 1870's period costumes. Enjoy making candles, dolls, cedar branding, and calligraphy the way they did way back when as well as participate in several different games. 

Patrick Ranch Museum Autumn Fest

Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13

The historic Patrick Ranch Museum is celebrating the fall season by staying committed to the vision of Hester Patrick, who wanted her land used to inspire and educate people about our natural history and the agricultural significance of our area. Come out to the ranch and take a tour of the Glenn-wood Farm House, have a snack in the Midway Café, or have fun with Jack-o-Lanterns, Cinderella Pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, children’s activities, farm animals, hay rides, and much more. 

This weekend they'll also be celebrating Sierra Oro Farm Trial with their pumpkin patch activities from 10am-4pm!

Olive Festival & Car Show 

October 12th 10am-4pm

Time to celebrate the 76th Annual Corning Olive Festival and Car Show! This annual festival has everything from a parade to lawn mower and bed races along with a Miss Corning Pageant and the Missing Olive Contest. You'll also be able to see a bunch of cool cars and a tractor exhibit! 


Artoberfest

All month long

During the month of October, Artoberfest is a 31-day festival celebrating arts and culture in our area. With over 100 art exhibits, special events, performances, lectures and films, there is sure to be something to spark your interest.
