What Not to Do This Summer in Your Chico Apartment

Written by Hignell Rentals Team | July 9, 2020

Summer is that time of year where you pack as much fun as possible into your weekends, afternoons, and days off! You don’t need a road trip to get the most out of your free time.

One of the best parts about living in an apartment is that you can do many fun things without even leaving your complex.

You have a lot of activities to choose from such as: swimming in the pool, inviting a few friends over (if you feel comfortable), or playing in one of the courts offered in certain apartments.

While there are many things you can do in your Chico apartment, there's also a list of things you can’t do or should avoid doing. In case you're wondering what the proper etiquette is when it comes to enjoying apartment life, here are some things that you should keep in mind.

Don’t Throw A Pool Party

Summer time gets hot, so it's a fantastic thing to have a pool at every Living in Chico apartment. Although a pool party sounds like a great idea, they aren’t allowed and not just because we're  in the middle of a pandemic. Typically you are allowed to have two guests when swimming, but until further notice all complexes have posted that no outside guests are permitted in the pool area. There is also no alcohol is allowed at any time. For more rules regarding the pool area, click here

Don’t Leave Doors Unlocked

It doesn’t matter what time of year it is or where you're living, lock your doors when you leave. Even if you are just going down to the pool, to the apartment gym, or even grabbing something from your car, protect your belongings!

Don’t Leave Your Noisy Pet For Long

Some complexes allow small pets, usually cats or dogs. We understand that you have work and other places you have to be where pets are not allowed, but be courteous to your neighbors. If you know your pet can get really noisy, don’t leave them alone for very long.

Don’t Throw Raging Parties

Inviting people over for game night or a dinner is more than welcome. It’s when the music gets turned up, the dancing and jumping starts, or loud voices echo out of your Chico apartment that it becomes a no-no. Again, be courteous and mindful of the people living on all sides of you!

However, since we are in the middle of a pandemic we'd suggest limiting contact with people outside your apartment, if you have people over remember to wear a mask, limit contact, have hand sanitizer available, and opt for outside if possible!

Don’t Have Your Friends Park In Empty Parking Spots

Certain complexes have assigned parking spots for their residents. Just because they aren’t home doesn’t mean that you can have your friends or family park in the empty spot. Have them find street parking or see if there are specific places at your complex that are used for guests.

Don't Be Rude!

Overall, the main thing is just to make sure you're courteous of your neighbors and respect apartment rules and regulations. Make sure you double check any rules you need explained or clarified with your apartment manager.

Summer is meant to be fun! Get out there, be safe, and enjoy yourself! Follow the rules, and you'll be sure to make great memories all summer long. Rules are there for your protection and so that you AND your neighbors can enjoy a peaceful living experience.
