We have to enjoy this weather while we can because before we know it the mercury will be reaching into the 100’s. Chico offers some great springtime activities and events, but really all you have to do is take one step outside your door. Living in Chico apartments offer some great outdoor amenities that are literally just a step away. ## Prepare Your Patio No yard? No problem! Most Chico apartments come with a balcony or patio and now is the perfect time to get it ready for the warmer weather. If your patio is actually being used as storage space, then it’s time to downsize. Get rid of some stuff so you can make room for friends. **All a small patio really needs is** a barbecue, a bench or couple of chairs, a plant or two, and some twinkle lights for ambiance. Then you can enjoy the cool spring evenings on your patio, eating your favorite meal, and sipping your favorite beverage. All of your neighbors will be envious for sure. Get some inspiration by taking a look at [24 ways to make the most of your tiny apartment balcony](https://www.thespruce.com/make-the-most-of-your-small-apartment-balcony-3017329). ## Explore The Complex Your apartment complex might have something in or near the complex you didn’t even know existed. Did you know Sterling Oaks apartments in Chico California has a **bike path** that leads directly to Bidwell Park? Or that Sheridan Square has **lighted tennis courts**? Or that Lassen Villa has **two pools**? Have you ever just taken a walk through your neighborhood? Maybe there’s a frozen yogurt shop or playground nearby you never knew existed. Many of the Hignell Rentals apartments in Chico also have weekly breakfasts for residents or social activities in the clubhouse. Be sure to read your complex’s newsletter or check with the apartment manager to see what you might be missing. ## Be Recreational The cool thing about living in Chico apartments is that no matter where you’re located, you are only a short bike ride – or sometimes even a walk – away from Bidwell Park and [Downtown Chico](https://www.downtownchico.com). People love living in Chico because of this **small town feel** and **focus on community**.
