Calling all runners! It’s almost time for the last race of the summer. The Summer Sizzler has been going on for the past three years and every year it gets more popular. Want to sign up with your friends and family to run through Bidwell Park and support two great non-profits? Fantastic. Then continue reading to get all the details on what you need to know about this year’s Summer Sizzler.
When and Where Will It Be?
Both the 5K and the 10K will be located at Cedar Grove in Bidwell Park, Chico CA. Each race will be held on Sunday August 14th, although they will start at different times. The 5K will start at 7:55am and the 10K will start 10 minutes earlier at 7:45am.
What is the Run For?
Both of the races will benefit two non-profits: The North Valley Animal Disaster Group and Butte County Search and Rescue. The races will also mark the end of Fleet Feet’s Summer Advanced 5K program, Standard 10K program, and their Boundaries 2 program. It's also part of the Chico Races that Fleet Feet puts on every year.

Ticket Information
For people wanting to either walk or run the 5K, it will cost $35 per person. For people wanting to run the 10K it will cost $40 per person. If you have children the age of 13 or under wanting to join you on either race it will only be $20 per child, no matter which race they join. Volunteers Needed
If you want to be a part of the races but not actually participate in them, you can still volunteer! They need people who can be course monitors, people who can do course set up and take down, and they need people to help hand out packets the day before and the day of the race.
The benefit to volunteering is that you're offered a free entry to a Fleet Feet Chico Race or $30 off one of their fall training programs. If you're interested in helping them out, contact Carly at carly@fleetfeetchico.com or call 530-345-1000.
