Would it be for yourself or someone else? ‘Tis the Season for Giving here at Living in Chico, and our Christmas wish is to help those less fortunate than us. ## What Do You Know About The [Jesus Center](http://www.jesuscenter.org/)? Let us give you a small glimpse into how they help the Chico community, so you know what you’re helping to support. For most of us living in Chico, we don’t often come into contact with people who have had to resort to street living, for whatever circumstances got them there. Sure, we often see the occasional person holding the sign on the freeway or sleeping under the bridge, but it’s easy to look past them. Truth is, no matter what choices they’ve made or what cards life has dealt them, these people are in need of the basic necessities we take for granted each day. Their Christmas wish might be to just have a warm place to sleep at night. The Jesus Center helps these individuals by offering Christ-centered compassion and a safe-haven from street living. They provide food, shelter, clothing and referral services, and most importantly hope and encouragement for life transformation. ## What Exactly is a Wish? “Wish” is a verb, defined by Dictionary.com as “to want; desire; long for." According to Cinderella, a dream is a wish your heart makes. We like her definition better. Think about what you dream of, whether it’s for yourself, someone else, or the world, and that’s probably a good indication of what you wish for.  At Living in Chico, we wanted our Christmas wish to reflect who we are. As an extension of [The Hignell Companies](https://www.hignell.com), we believe in Creating Caring Communities that transform lives and the Jesus Center is doing just that! ## Tell Us Your Christmas Wish! Again, we encourage you to help us support the Jesus Center by telling us your Christmas wish. Really, if you could wish for anything, what would it be? Of course we’d all like to have $1 Million, but we’re looking for more meaningful wishes. So leave a comment or wall post on our [Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/LivinginChico?fref=ts) and we’ll donate $1 to the Jesus for each wish submitted. We’ll get started: Living in Chico wishes you a Happy Holiday Season! **Only one wish per person will qualify for the $1 match, but you can still submit additional wishes just for fun! Living in Chico will match up to $500.* If you find yourself wishing for a new place to live take the time to download our [How to Make Apartment Searching Funner](http://info.livinginchico.com/how_to_make_apartment_searching_and_living_funner).
