May - June Events in Chico

May and June are two of the best months when you're living in Chico. The sun is out but it's not too hot just yet. So get out and do something! Music, food and fun are plentiful from the downtown farmers markets to free concerts. We pulled together a selection of fun events in Chico, and if you are a resident of a Living In Chico property, there are a select group of exclusive events at the bottom of this post. Check 'em out!

May - June Events in Chico

Pioneer Day Parade
May 5th, 10:00 AM, Downtown Chico
Enjoy this family friendly Chico tradition that culminates in a community barbecue in the Downtown City Plaza including live music at 11:30 AM.

Friday Night Concerts
May 4th - Sept. 7th, 7 - 8:30 PM
Free live music on Friday nights kicks off tonight! This event is in City Plaza in downtown Chico on Broadway between 4th and 5th St.

Humboldt Skate Park - Competition & Grand Re-Opening
May 12th, 9 AM - 5 PM
370 Humboldt Ave.
The recently renovated skate park is hosting an event for all ages. Come and check out some of Chico's best skateboarders and enjoy live music.

Fork in the Road
May 18th, 5:30 - 8:30 PM

Over a dozen local food trucks, playground for the kids, live music and beer garden.

Movies in the Park: "Sing"
June 9th, at dusk (approx. 8:45 PM)
Sycamore Field in Lower Bidwell Park, next to Caper Acres Playground (Google Map)
Bring a blanket and a friend to enjoy a movie under the stars. The warm Chico nights make this a popular event.

Silver Dollar Speedway

Hosting a variety of events in May and June from Sprint Cars, to Super Cross to Destruction Derby! This is affordable fun for the whole family.

Sierra Nevada Big Room Concerts
One of the premiere music venues in Chico, Sierra Nevada Brewery hosts a wide variety of talented musicians in their Big Room venue. Here are some highlights from the May - June calendar.

June 28th: Red Molly

The Arcadian Apartments are hosting an Open House every Saturday and Sunday between 2-5 pm for May and June. These are the newest luxury apartments available in Chico with spacious floorplans and premium detailed finishes. Do yourself a favor and do a walk through, they are amazing!

Events Exclusively for Residents:

1661 Forest Avenue Residents

• May 15th at 6:30pm. Its finals week and although that is exciting it is also stressful. Join us at the clubhouse for some stress relief. We will have lots of energy drinks, yummy snacks and more. We will have a movie playing and board games available.
• May 25th at 6:30pm. Forest Avenue has such a great community and we want our new resident management team to feel a part of this community too! Join us for a special dessert night and a time to officially welcome them to the community.

Almond Grove Residents

• May 16th at 6:00pm. The warmer weather is here and it's time for ice cream! Join us for root beer floats at the clubhouse.
• May 31st at 5:30pm. No Need to make dinner tonight! We will have lots of delicious options for a healthy salad for dinner. Hope to see you there!

Amanda Place Residents

• Our Wednesday breakfasts are always a hit at Amanda Place. Start your morning off right with a muffin, some yogurt or fruit. Check out the morning headlines or chat with some neighbors at our continental breakfast. 
• May 30th we are doing popsicles by the pool at 6:30.

Sheridan Square Residents

• May 8th at 7:00 pm is Pie Night! If you are like us then you LOVE pie! Please join us for dessert at the clubhouse.
• May 30th at 6:30pm is game night and we are ready for some fun! We will have lots of junk food and some great games to play together as a community.

Sterling Oaks Residents 

• May 8th at 6:00 pm join us for a crafty kinda night at the clubhouse. We will supplies to decorate a potted succulent. Snacks and drinks will be served. Hope to see you there!
• May 30th at 6:00pm is our Unbirthday Pary! This is no ordinary birthday party. This is a birthday party for everyone! We will be serving cake and ice cream and celebrating everyone! Raffle prizes too!

Train Station Residents

• May 15th at 6:00pm. If there is ever a favorite event at Train Station it's pizza night! Join us for dinner and who knows. you might win a prize!
• May 31st from 7:00-8:00pm be on the lookout for the "ice cream truck" aka the golf cart. We will driving through the complex handing out FREE ice cream bars.

Lassen Villa Residents

• May 16th at 6:00pm in an effort to help welcome new residents to the Lassen Villa community we are hosting a dinner for residents who have moved into Lassen Villa since January 2018 through April 2018. Personal invitation to follow. RSVP encouraged to ccteamroving@gmail.com.
• May 30th at 6:30pm take a mid-week break and come on down to the clubhouse for smoothies!

Tuscan Villa Residents

• May 14th at 6:30pm #Orovillerocks! We will have rocks and painting supplies for you to make a rock and join in on the fun. We will be serving a special surprise dessert too!
• May 4th at 5:30pm don't miss out on the pre Cinco de Mayo taco night celebration! Join us for a fun evening of great food and company down at the clubhouse. Hope to see you there!
