Now that the 4th of July holiday is over, it's time to plan the rest of the month. Take a look below at the many fun events happening around Chico and make sure to mark your calendars so you don't miss them!
Thursday Night Market
Every Thursday Night from 6:00-9:00pm through September 29th Chico has its Thursday Night Market. Vendors from all around Chico come out to set up booths for you to check out -- everything from clothing and jewelry to vegetables and flowers. Among the booths there are also a bunch of different food trucks, so no need to worry about grabbing dinner beforehand. Come out and stroll through the streets of Downtown Chico while eating yummy food and maybe running into some old friends you haven’t seen in awhile.
Friday Night Concerts
Every Friday Night from 6:00-7:30pm in the Downtown City Plaza through September 9th there will be a band performing for your entertainment! This month includes bands that play classic rock/country, alternative rock/pop, blues/soul, and reggae/pop. Slice of Chico
The annual day of free watermelon slices is finally upon us. Saturday, July 9th from 9:00am-5:00pm shops will be having special sales and there will be free ice cold watermelon slices to enjoy. There will be four stations to grab your slices located at: Garden Walk Mall, Diamond W Western Wear, Trés Hombres, and Kirk’s Jewelry. Gatsby Garden Party
Ever feel like you were meant to be born in the 1920’s? Well then you're in luck because Sunday July 10th from 4:00-7:00pm located at Michele Shover’s Little Chapman Mansion they will be partying like Gatsby to benefit the Chico Museum. Must be 21 or older to attend and tickets are $40 per person. The event includes Charleston lessons, lawn games, musical entertainment, a raffle and more! If you don’t feel like dressing entirely in1920’s attire, then they suggest just wearing white or something light. To buy tickets and see what else this party has click here.
CARD Movie in the Park
This is the last one of the summer folks! Saturday, July 16th at Sycamore Field (500 S. Park Dr.) they will be showing the movie McFarland. Bring blankets and chairs and come enjoy a family friendly event. Movie will start approximately 15 minutes after sunset.
Monday Night Karaoke
Not everyone loves Mondays, if you're in that boat why not end it on a good note? Madison Bear Garden has karaoke every Monday night from 9:00pm until closing. Come sing your heart out or get a laugh while watching others do it. Don’t forget that Madison Bear also has late night eats as well so you can sing and eat to your heart’s content.
