[Giving Tuesday](http://www.givingtuesday.org/) is a day dedicated to giving back to others. It is a day to celebrate the act of giving and the concept of generosity. But how do we at Living in Chico give back to our community? ## The Hignell Foundation At Living in Chico, we are professionally managed and operated by the Hignell Companies. One of the ways that The Hignell Companies gives to others is through The Hignell Foundation. The foundation’s mission statement is: *Creating Caring Communities that Transform Lives**.* This is done by helping the financial needs of Hignell’s employees along with choosing a major initiative in our community that has core values that align with our mission statement. Here is a piece from the [website](https://www.hignell.com/about-us/hignell-foundation). “Our giving with the Community Impact Fund reflects our focus, our core beliefs and our trust in God. Our foundation exists: - To bring transformation within our sphere of influence: our employees, our customers, the cities of Chico and Oroville, and beyond. - To make our company a supernatural incubator from which people are launched into their divine destiny. - To provide financial resources beyond our wildest expectations: to meet the needs of employees, customers, and community for whom we are called to care.” ## Creating Caring Communities Within Hignell’s desire for creating communities that transform lives, we find Creating Caring Communities teams. These teams focus on different events and activities that help build and nurture relationships within our various rental properties. This is a type of giving that provides an intrinsic gift from the sense and support of community. We at Living in Chico are proud to be affiliated with The Hignell Companies. On this Giving Tuesday, we want you to celebrate the gift of giving and help others in need. Are you looking for an apartment that doesn’t just put a roof over your head but also gives back to you?
