Decorating a Christmas tree is a must this time of year, but it can be hard to find space for a tree in your apartment.
Instead of going with a large tree, consider buying a miniature one. You can set it on an end table so it doesn’t take up more floor space, and then set the gifts on the ground underneath. If you don’t think you have the space for a tree, you could even create one on a wall like this:
Cut down on clutter by swapping out your every day decorations for your holiday decorations. When you unpack your Christmas décor, put your other year round décor back in the boxes. Then you won’t feel like you’re overrun with stuff. If you don’t have a lot of your own holiday décor yet, consider ways you can make your own on a budget.
You can make your apartments in Chico and Redding California feel festive simply by decorating your windows. You can purchase a Christmas stencil and some holiday snow or white window paint to create a holiday design on your window; or purchase window decals to stick on. You could also string ribbon or hang round Christmas ornaments to catch the light.
When you receive Christmas cards from friends and family, use them as decorations by taping them to a door or blank space on your wall. You could also string holiday ribbon if you have the space and hang them from the ribbon using clothing pins or paper clips.
Simply stringing Christmas lights on your balcony or laying down a holiday welcome mat can make the outside of your apartment festive too. Some apartments in Chico and Redding California even have holiday decorating competitions. Check with your manager to see if your complex has anything like that, and make sure you’re aware of any type of décor that is not recommended.
